ISPF Interface

The BDMUTIL ISPF Interface

The BDMUTIL ISPF Interface was expertly written
by Vinh Vu, to display, print, or delete, all (
or some)
Userid messages in any copy of a Broadcast Dataset.

The BDMUTIL ISPF Interface uses three Utility
programs that come with the Brodcast Master (tm)
package. These are: BDMUSERS, BDMLIST, and
BDMDEL (which are TSO commands that can be run
separately, outside the ISPF Interface as well).

The BDMUTIL ISPF Interface consists of one REXX,
and just four panels. Once installed, you merely enter
"TSO BDMUTIL your.brodcast.dataset" and you get a
dynamic display of all Userids with outstanding
messages that are attached to them. You have the
opportunity to either Display (S), Print (P), or
Delete (D)
some, or all of the messages.

To delete or display
SOME of a Userid's messages, but
not all of them, we use two keywords:
SKIP(mm) and MSGS(nn).

SKIP(mm) will skip the first mm messages attached to
that Userid. After that, all the rest of that Userid's
messages are displayed, unless the display is limited to
the next nn messages, by the MSGS(nn) keyword. You
see how it works. Repeated applications of the
SKIP(mm) and MSGS(nn) keywords will allow you
complete control of which messages are shown,
printed, or deleted ! You no longer are restricted to
deleting ALL of a Userid's messages. Now you can
delete
SOME of them, and you have COMPLETE
CONTROL
!

YOU GET A COMPLETE RENEWAL of your display
screen every time you perform an operation with
the BDMUTIL ISPF Interface. The current display
always reflects the current state of the target
Broadcast Dataset....
